A 3D Printed Pizza?

Edible 3D printed creations seem to be all the rage these days, with the Fab@Home project leading the charge, creating objects out of peanut butter, frosting and cheese. But this concept appears to be more than just a novelty, as NASA has enlisted the help of Austin TX based Systems and Materials Research Corporation to develop technology to create a 3D printed pizza. You couldn't really make news like this up if you tried.

Edible 3D objects is just one of the paths of development for 3D printing. There are a number of trends that will shape this popular technology in the coming years. I provide a rundown of these in my article on Future Trends in 3D Printing.
