CDMA stands for Code Division Multiple Access. There are over half a billion CDMA subscribers and 2,500 device introduced worldwide according to the CDMA Development Group.
CDMA is used in both 2G and 3G wireless networks. CDMA is considered a "spread spectrum" technology designed to transmit digital radio signals between a wireless device and a base station. CDMA technology was developed by the military over 30 years ago.
